GIVENCHY

Givenchy’s legacy, although long-established and distinct, never seems to present any limitation to the production of the brand’s most recent collections. While some Parisian designer houses tend to consistently allude to their previous styles, themes and muses in order to recall their singularities and identities, Givenchy stands on it’s own. With novelty and consistent uniqueness in its designs, the explanation is evident, a bright mind is in command and one must admit that Givenchy does particularly rhyme well with Ricardo Tisci.

The Spring/Summer 2015 collection, once again, reflected Tisci’s ability to merge very different worlds: the arrogantly sophisticated, that is mystical and iconoclast at the same time.

SAINT LAURENT

Once again, faithful to his sense of provocation, Hedi Slimane made of the Saint Laurent Autumn/Winter 2015/16 collection a manifesto of rebellion. On a rising catwalk, sheath dresses, slits and zips, freed pairs of legs dangerously wrapped in fishnets and laddered tights. These are the legs of an audacious woman who does not abstain from doing anything except blending into the background.

Untameable and intimidating, we yield to Slimaneʼs Saint Laurent woman and her distinguished arrogance, her sulphurous elegance.

CONVERSE

Travel photography captures the essence of what it means to see things with a calm and open mind. Moreover, it conserves the emotion of that very specific moment and place when taking the picture. To lose oneself in those pictures - whereever and whenever - is one perfect way to escape the daily hazards for some momentary bliss.

In this installation all these precious moments and places are projected onto the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star, itself an object to project dreams and memories on.

MINI

Over the years design has become a much more crucial part of development than it used to be. Its task is to ensure a balance between the interior and exterior, nature and architecture, life and creation. Mini understood this concept perfectly and showcases its importance by recalling their first version of the Clubman, translating its initial ideas into the future. Clever details and generous surfaces underline its exclusive and cool character.

JACQUEMUS

Credited with bringing a freshness to Paris’ fashion scene, Simon Porte Jacquemus’ collections are deconstructed, surrealistic and often „NSFW”. His designs showcase revolt in a romantic way, so it was only natural to have him as the feature womenswear designer in the second issue of Whitelies Magazine. In collaboration with Paris bound photographer Theresa Marx the editorial was produced with Elite Model Management in Paris.
